It gets messy...

It gets harder, the close I'm getting to go back to christmas. How will it be? Will I have time for everything I wish to do? Will my old friends be there as they used to? Will I be the same person?
The time appears to go really slow

I'm now, 4 weeks away to my plane trip and it's one of the things I mostly think about. I try to be strong, I try to live my new life and leave these sad thoughts behind. Each night it gets harder to sleep.

But in the mornings I wake up and I face the day as I have to. I study hard and harder to be one of the best, I work out really hard thinking that it can get me to a better life. Although it gets hard to swim, cycle and run in my own thoughts and with only my brother to share it, the conversations start to make no sense.

Anyway I've been facing the cold and leaving home at 19pm, with -2°C to run, alone in the darkness of an unknown world.

Yesterday I spent 3 hours, studying swedish, so I can maybe get into this country's culture and say that I know it and I like it!

I've missed my family a lot, more than ever... They have been great, I speak to my grandparents and cousins every day, and I can surely tell you that it's always the best moment of my life.

I hope it's not too boring to you, once I'm sharing my feelings with  you about this big experience.

Weekend in Falun

Hi everyone, I've been absent for some time, but I'm hoping to be back now.

I will start writing here every week so you can take part in my experience.

This weekend I've been in Falun, a beautiful city in the middle of Sweden. It was an amazing time and I'm back with great news.

My first goal, going there was to see a high school for triathletes. I liked it and the conditions to practice are really good. They everything a triathlete needs to work out in the winter.

This is the velodrome with scary curves

The first time was just slowly trying the new bikes

Next day I had an indoor triathlon competition, with 400m in a swimming pool, 8km (42 laps) in a velodrome and 2km running.
I felt really good and I leaded from the swimming to the running. The swimming was easy and well done in 5.00 (about 1 minutes advantage to the other girls), the cycling was hard and fast, doing 8km in about 12 minutes and cycling in 45/50 km/h in a velodrome with deep curves that seemed walls. In the running I felt very good.

On Sunday I was running with poles in a hill called "the Killing hill", a new way of working out and the beginning of the training to ski.
The killing hill is just near a ski jump track

There was also time to visit the mines of Falun, one of the biggest in the Europe.

Now I'm back home, ready to rest for one more week.

And... moving again!!

Hello,
It has been 3 weeks since I wrote here last time, I'm sorry about that the time hasn't been much.

September in Sweden, has been a cold month, with temperatures between -2 and 11°C, and I've been trying to survive it :)

I finally moved to my new house, I left the small apartment were I lived in the first month and I started my new life in my nice House. I'd to pack everything again and move it all again.

Here is my old apartment and half of our bags.

This last 2 weekends we have been in IKEA buying our furniture and it has been a hard work building it all. I love my new room even it is still a bit empty, but it's my quiet and warm place.
Here there are some pictures of my room and the house:

I Hope you like it :) and it was 6pm when I took this pictures :/

Work in school has been hard and I've been very tired, I don't have net at home yet and that's one of the reasons why I haven't been writing here lately.

I had my first tests and project works this two last weeks and I did it quite well.

I've news about TRIATHLON but I will write them in its Page.

About Sweden and my feelings about it I think it's quite nice, I like people and "things" here have great conditions. It's always cold and I really need to buy new, warm clothes... I miss my friends and family but I try not to think to much on it as I'm meeting new friends.

Thanks for reading and leave comments :)

First month in Sweden

It has been now 1 month I'm here in Sweden and my life here is starting to get in a normal daily routine. I've a good school schedule, well conjugated with my daily trainings.

I've already visited the hospital as I sprained my ankle 1 week ago :/ and I guess it's a good service but not as better as we (Portuguese) think...

I'm adapting quickly to school but it has been hard dealing with swedish.
I'm finally moving for my definitive home next weekend, so I have already been in the real swedish IKEA :D

Two weekends ago I was in Stockholm watching WTS with the best triathletes in the world, I'll later post some pictures of it...

Hope you like it, I'll keep you in touch of my strange experience.

P.S.: We are
in summer and it's 8º!!! I'm freezing :/

Introducing Myself

I created this blog to talk about my experience and how I'm feeling about it.
Right now it has been almost one month, I started school and I've been training with VSS.
Right now I prefer Portugal to Sweden but I'm still loking for the good things about it.

Few facts about Sweden:
-It's a bit cold in here considering that we are in August and I'm used to 40ºC.
-People are really nice, friendly and helpful.
-Swedish is really difficult but I start understanding a bit of it :)
-Everybody cycle and there are cycling routes everywhere.
-Schools have amazing good conditions (compared with Portugal)
-People like sports
-There is Triathlon in Sweden :D
-People have lunch at 11am!!!

There are lots of things I could said but there isn't time for all of them.
Here I leave you a picture of a beutiful city:
